New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a charge sheet in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case. Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has also been named in it. It explains how thug Sukesh Chandrashekhar approached the film actress for friendship. According to the charge sheet, thug Sukesh Chandrasekhar called union home minister Amit Shah's office number by 'spoofing' him to befriend Jacqueline Fernandez. He claimed that he belonged to the "political family" of late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa.

the ED has given this information in the charge sheet filed under the Anti-Money Laundering Act (PMLA). 'Call spoof' means that the caller's number is not the original number, but someone else's number when the call bell rings. The investigating agency said, 'Chandrashekhar had been trying to contact Jacqueline Fernandes for several weeks in December 2020 and January 2021. However, Jacqueline did not respond because she had received several calls and did not know who the man was.'

ED added, 'Jacqueline's makeup artist Shan Muthathil was contacted with a government office number and told that Jacqueline Fernandes should contact Shekhar as he is an important person and wants to talk to him. ED said his makeup artist had received a call from home minister Amit Shah's office asking him to contact Shekhar only Sukesh Chandrashekhar as he is a very important person in the government. ED said, "The said call was made from the office of Home Minister Amit Shah, which, as per investigation, was a fake call and was made by the accused Sukesh Chandrashekhar.'

The chargesheet said that Jacqueline Fernandes, a Sri Lankan national who has acted in several Hindi films, later contacted thug Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The thug then introduced himself as the owner of Sun TV. He (Chandrashekhar) also said that he belongs to Jayalalithaa's political family and is from Chennai. Chandrashekhar said he is a big fan of his and should do films in the southern film industry and Sun TV has many projects for him. The investigating agency has also questioned Jacqueline twice earlier.
