Bamboo chick and portable coolers are being used in the Corona period. The Railways is trying new ways to beat the heat within the isolation coaches deployed to treat coronavirus patients. According to the railway, cover sheets have been placed over the coaches to keep the interior cool. Such coaches have been deployed in five states. Railway has said that bubble wrap films are being wrapped on coaches to keep the coach cool.

Northern Railway also used layers of paint to help reduce heat on the roof of the isolation coach as an experiment. It is said that this technique can reduce the internal temperature up to 2.2 degree Celsius. A senior official said that the railways have ordered to paint the roof of 100 converted coaches on the Northern and North Central Railways as an experiment. The same would be done according to the standard proposed by the Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO). Before the Covid-19 outbreak, Humsafar Express, Jan Shatabdi Express, Antyodaya Express were used on about 100 coaches. Other Make-in-India products were used in this.

In view of the growing Corona crisis in Delhi and the Central Government has given instructions to build isolation wards in 500 rail coaches. After this, seven platforms of Anand Vihar railway station have been reserved for isolation coaches. The windows were closed by forging and tape. Plastic curtains were installed inside the coach and the middle berth has been removed. Station Superintendent Om Kumar told that it has not been decided how many coaches will be installed at Anand Vihar railway station. All the five trains running from here will now run from Old Delhi Railway Station.
