Kolkata: Political rhetoric regarding the violence against Ram Navami has intensified in West Bengal. After CM Mamata Banerjee blamed the BJP government at the centre for this violence, now the BJP has also attacked Banerjee. Union Minister Smriti Irani asked how long Mamata Banerjee would continue to attack the Hindu community. Let us tell you that the violence that started on the day of Ram Navami continued in Bengal the next day as well. The situation is so tense that Section 144 has been imposed in the area. In many areas of Howrah, many videos of violence that continued for the second day also came to the fore.
Union Minister Smriti Irani alleged that stones were pelted in Howrah during the Ram Navami procession, but CM Mamata Banerjee gave a clean chit to the stone pelters. She said that the question is how long Mamta will continue to attack the Hindu community. Smriti Irani said that this is not the first incident that happened during Mamta's rule. In the year 2022, Dalits performing Lakshmi Puja were attacked. Mamta was silent even at that time. Earlier, the Bengal BJP leader had accused Mamta Banerjee. She had demanded the NIA investigate the case. On the other hand, Abhishek Banerjee, general secretary of Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and nephew of Mamata Banerjee, said that criminals have no religion. She said that it was BJP only. Which talks about the religion of criminals before taking action. Significantly, before the procession on the day of Ram Navami, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee warned Hindus that Muslims do not commit violence in Ramzan. She blamed the violence on the BJP and Hindus. Along with this, Shobhatra was warned not to go to the Muslim area.
Mamta had said, "My eyes and ears are open. I can see everything. I had already warned that the Yatra should not be taken out of Muslim-dominated areas. I had already said that violence can happen if a rally is taken out on Ram Navami." She said, "It is the time of Ramadan." At this time, they (the Muslim community) cannot do anything wrong. Abhishek Banerjee did not stop here. He said that Mamta Banerjee appealed for peace to all the people, but no BJP leader made such an appeal. He said that the BJP wants there to never be peace. Banerjee alleged that the participants in the procession carried swords and guns. Weapons like pistols were carried. Mohammad Salim of the CPM blamed the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as well as the TMC for the violence in Bengal. He said that the BJP has given political colour to these religious processions. He said that several processions taken out on Ram Navami have been led by TMC leaders.
