New Delhi: Since the abrogation of Article 370 in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, about 1700 Kashmiri Pandits have been given jobs in various government departments here. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai gave information in this regard in the Upper House on Wednesday (February 2, 2022). On a question made in the Rajya Sabha regarding the jobs of Kashmiri Pandits, the Union Minister of State for Home referred to the data provided by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that out of 1,54,712, 44,684 Kashmiri migrant families were registered in the office of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Overseas) Jammu. Around 1700 Kashmiri Pandits have been given jobs in various government departments by the Jammu and Kashmir administration. Replying to a written question, Nityanand Rai said that, for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrant families, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has appointed 1697 such people with effect from August 5, 2019 and has selected an additional 1140 people in this regard.

Nityanand Rai, in a written reply to Rajya Sabha member Neeraj Dangi, informed that since the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, that is, from 5 August 2019 to 26 January 2022, 541 terrorist incidents have taken place, while 439 terrorists have been killed. At the same time, 98 civilians were also killed and 109 Security Forces (SAF) were martyred in these attacks.
