New Delhi: The Central Government on Wednesday informed Parliament that the properties of 610 Kashmiri Pandits, who had fled the Valley due to compulsion after atrocities, have been returned to them. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has given information in this regard in reply to supplementary questions asked during Question Hour in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
The government informed Parliament on Wednesday that the properties of 610 Kashmiri Pandits who left the Valley compulsively after atrocities have been handed over to them. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai gave this information in the Upper House on Wednesday in response to supplementary questions during the Question Hour. Rai said that the central government is trying its best to return the properties of such people and so far the properties of 610 applicants who have applied on the portal have been returned.
Referring to the various steps taken by the government to provide employment to the people in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Rai said investment proposals worth Rs 51,000 crore have been received for industrial development of Jammu and Kashmir and this has helped 4.5 lakh youths in the Union Territory. Employment is expected.
