The Indian Air Force, in partnership with the Government of Maharashtra, is set to organize an aerial exhibition in Mumbai from January 12 to January 14, 2024. Taking place from 12 pm to 1 pm over Marine Drive, the event, known as the 'Mumbai Air Show 2024,' is part of the Indian Air Force's outreach program. A defense official, quoted by news agency PTI, stated that the program aims to raise awareness and foster a stronger connection between the Air Force and the local community.

Featuring a one-hour-long aerial display, the event will showcase the skills, capabilities, and professionalism of the Indian Air Force through captivating demonstrations.
With this, Mumbai undergoes traffic curbs today as the Indian Air Force launches the "Mumbai Air Show" over Marine Drive on January 12, aiming to connect with the local community. The event, in collaboration with the Maharashtra Government, concludes on January 14 and showcases aerobatic displays by the Suryakiran and Sarang teams.

The Sarang Helicopter display team shares their excitement on social media, declaring, "Sarangs painting the Mumbai skies red!" The Suryakiran team, established in 1996, rejoins the city after 20 years, expressing their enthusiasm on Instagram.

To facilitate the air show, Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will partially shut two runways from 12 pm to 1 pm on January 12-14. Passengers are advised to confirm flight schedules with airlines due to the temporary closures.

Traffic restrictions in south Mumbai are announced from 9 am to 5 pm on January 13 and 14. Key road closures include N S Road (North Bound), N S Road (South Bound), Veer Nariman Road (North Bound), Dinshaw Vacha Road, Madamcama Road, Barrister Rajni Patel Marg, and Vinay K Shah Marg.

Alternative routes are suggested for each closure, ensuring a smooth flow of traffic during the grand air show. Commuters are urged to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with the authorities for a successful event.
