How Rajput Bakul brought the world famous sports of Padle to India

India enjoys a healthy companionship with sports. This is how the world famous Padel made way into the world's most celebrated democracy.Padel, as a sport originated in 1969 in Acapulco and was founded by Enrique Corcuera. Though India has been enjoying a diplomatic relationship with Spain since 1956, Indians have always been inclined to the Spanish culture. And this fascination  only grew with Lionel Messi paving way into the hearts of a million of fans across the world. 

Pursuing his passion for sports, Rajput Bakul, the pioneer of India's association with Padle and also the President of the Indian Padel Federation, got introduced to this sport through a common friend who then went on to introduce him to Fernando Belasteguín, the most celebrated padle player and a 16 times world champion in the sport. Fernando and Bakul mutually agreed on bringing the sport to India.

In a few months, Fernando visited India with Miquel Vidal to analyse the possibilities of bringing the game to India. Bakul, as a good host, showed them around, also taking them to the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai.Fernando and Miquel were now excited about exploring the opportunities that India, as the world's second most populated country could add bring when associated with the sport.Founded on 8th August, 2018, formed by Padel enthusiasts, professionals and players from Spain,  Padel Tennis Federation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the development and promotion of Padel in India.

Rajput Bakul speaks on crusading Padel's journey to India and his presidency, "I am incredibly honoured to be serving as the President of the Indian Padel Federation. Padel is a very young sport, and this is both a challenge and an opportunity to promote and stimulate, inclusion and sportsmanship at the same level. The Federation is an exciting project with a multitude of challenges to be addressed, which we will quickly begin to implement."

Bakul mentions the Federation is really excited to be a part of the Olympics 2022, Paris as Padel has been approved and recognised as a part of the world's most prestigious sporting event.
