How to do Puja - On the first day of Navratri, clean the place of worship thoroughly. After that install the picture of mother Shailputri. Now place a red cloth on the wooden post below it and lay saffron on it. Now after this, place a wish fulfillment pillow on it and now meditate on Shailputri Devi with a red flower in hand. Now you offer intact, vermilion, incense, myrrh, flowers, etc. to the mother. After this, chant the mantra of Mata. In the end, lit a lamp with camphor or cow's ghee and perform their aarti and ring the bell with Shankhanad. If possible, recite Durga Saptashati.
