Material

To make Poha Cheela, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup Poha
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrots
  • Green coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 1-2 green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • salt to taste
  • Oil (for frying)

Method of making

  1. Soaking Poha : Firstly wash the Poha thoroughly and then soak it in water for 15 minutes.

  2. Preparing the mixture : Take out the soaked poha from the water and keep it in a plate. Now put poha, curd, onion, carrot, green coriander, green chili, ginger paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt in a large bowl and mix well.

  3. To bake the chilla : Heat a non-stick pan on medium flame and apply some oil in the pan. Now spread a spoonful of this mixture in the pan. When it becomes golden and crispy on both sides, take it out in a plate.

  4. Serving : Serve hot Poha Cheela with green chutney or curd.

Tips for making it more delicious

  • You can also add vegetables like peas, capsicum etc to the cheela as per your choice.
  • If you want a low calorie cheela, then instead of oil you can cook it by sprinkling some water.
