New Delhi: The government had launched the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojana in 2019 with the objective of providing social security in old age as a monthly pension. Under the scheme, unorganized sector workers will be provided a minimum assured monthly pension of Rs 3,000 after the age of 60 years. According to the Labour Ministry, a total of 45,77,295 unorganized workers have registered under the scheme as on November 25, 2021.

How can you register:-

To avail this scheme, you need to register with the Common Service Centre (CSC). The Government of India has also developed a web portal for the scheme. The operators of the CSC Centre will register the labourers on the same portal. Registration will be considered as the application of the workers. There is no need to apply for a scheme in the Labour Department. All information online will go to the Government of India through CSC centres.

For registration, the workers in the CSC should carry their Aadhaar card, savings or Jan Dhan Bank account passbook, mobile number. At the same time, a Memorandum of Understanding has to be given. This will be followed by the registration of labour. After registration, the consent letter will also have to be given in the branch in which the worker has a bank account, only then the contribution will be deducted from his account. The government has made labour department offices, LIC, EPFO workers' facilitation centres for the scheme. You can also go to these offices and get information about the Shramik Yojana. The government has issued a toll-free number 18002676888 for the scheme. This number can also help in getting information about the scheme.
