WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to add custom messages when forwarding content, making it easier to personalize shared images, videos, documents, GIFs, and links. This update is currently in beta for Android users with version 2.24.25.3, according to a report by WABetaInfo.
Customizing Forwarded Messages
The new feature lets you include additional comments or context with the content you're sharing, which is a departure from the current process where users have to manually send a separate message after forwarding. This will make forwarding more seamless and personalized.
How It Works
With the upcoming update, users can add their own message or description along with any content they forward, whether it's a photo, video, document, or link. For example:
When forwarding a picture, you can explain its context or significance.
If you’re sharing a funny GIF or joke, you can add a personal touch to help others understand it better.
This feature is aimed at making shared content more meaningful and enhancing communication among users.
Launch and Other Updates
The feature is currently in testing and is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks. In addition to custom messages, WhatsApp will also introduce new theme colors for both light and dark modes. However, these color updates are initially available only for WhatsApp Business users.
