There are many temples in our India, which are either related to another era or their history is several thousand years old. There is one such temple in which we are going to tell you today, which was constructed between the twelfth-thirteenth century. This temple is located in Dwarasamudra in Karnataka. The current name of Dvarasamudra is Halebid, which is a very beautiful place on the Deccan plateau in Hassan district of Karnataka.

The name of this temple is Hoysaleswara Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Hoysaleswara temple is a Shaivite temple, but there are idols of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and other deities. These sculptures are made of softstone, which hardens with time. Inside this temple, a magnificent statue of Lord Shiva sits in very low light. Human skulls are built on the crown of Shiva's idol, which are only 1 inch wide. These small skulls have been hollowed out in such a way that the light passing through them goes through the eye hole and returns out of the ears. These holes made by hand thousands of years ago are very amazing.

However, the Hoysaleswara temple is built on a high platform, and there are 12 carved layers on this platform. The most amazing thing is that lime or cement was not used to connect these layers, rather it was added through interlocking. Not only did the king like the interlocking of stones, but because of this interlocking, the temple is still standing firmly. There are hundreds of beautiful sculptures on its outer walls. The most special thing about this temple is that every idol is made from the same stone. Along with this, stone columns are also built inside the temple. These pillars made of stone are in a circular design, which seems impossible to achieve by hand. According to experts, this work is not possible without a machine. But it is worth thinking about which machine our ancestors would have used to roll stones in those times. The rest of this temple is absolutely amazing in appearance.
