Hrithik Roshan took to Instagram and shared this shocking news. He shared a pre-workout photo of him with his Father and captioned it as, "Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn't miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family, we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. Love you dad," Ever since Hrithik shared the news, fans have been posting get-well-soon wishes for the filmmaker.

Squamous cell carcinoma is a type of cancer which is characterised by uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the lining of the throat.

On the work front, Rakesh Roshan has been preparing for the fourth instalment of the hit Krrish franchise which stars his son Hrithik as the male lead.
