On December 10, 2023, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will observe its 75th anniversary. We will begin a year-long effort to highlight the UDHR by focusing on its legacy, relevance, and activism on December 10, 2022, in advance of this milestone anniversary.

"Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All" is the theme for this year's Human Rights Day, and the hashtag to use is "#StandUp4HumanRights."

The UDHR's preamble emphasised that the "basis of freedom, justice, and peace in the world is the acknowledgment of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family."

Without universal health, there can be no dignity, freedom, or justice. The goal of the right to health is to guarantee that everyone, everywhere has access to cost-effective, high-quality healthcare. It also depends on the fulfillment of other human rights, such as food, education, shelter, and access to clean water and sanitation, as well as gender equality and other rights.

A person's right to health is unaffected by their race, colour, sex, language, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, location, religion, political opinion, nationality, or social origin, as well as their possessions, socioeconomic standing, or other status.

WHO supports the achievement of the right to health by collaborating with nations and partners. In order to effectively address the core reasons of those who are falling behind, develop a thorough strategy, monitor and measure progress, and hold everyone accountable. Human rights in relation to health are incorporated into all of WHO's programmes in an intersectional manner. This entails addressing the underlying causes of the several overlapping levels of inequality and prejudice.
