Afghanistan: According to Afghanistan's national bank, the country has received USD32 million in humanitarian monetary assistance. "On Tuesday, USD32 million in cash arrived in Afghanistan following a series of humanitarian help," Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) stated in a statement.
"While recognising the international community's humanitarian support, the DAB begs for increased collaboration in this field," it continued. According to reports, any legal step that "causes the delivery of currency to Afghanistan and leads to relief for the needy people of Afghanistan is applauded."
The DAB has been working to keep the value of the afghani, the country's official currency, at a stable and desired level versus foreign currencies, according to the statement.
Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in mid-August, the US has reportedly frozen more than USD9 billion in central bank assets, putting the country's banking system in jeopardy.
