Dehradun – Uttarakhand: The Hunar Haat Mela was inaugurated at Race Course Dehradun on Friday by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, according to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

The Hunar Haat Mela brings together more than 500 artisans and skilled craftspeople from more than 30 states and union territories. Vishwakarma Vatika and various stalls were inspected on this occasion, along with the Chief Minister and the Union Minister for Minority Affairs. The Chief Minister and Union Minister also honoured the families of freedom fighters in this programme held on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day Amrit Mahotsav.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who organised the Hunar Haat Mela in Dehradun, was thanked by Dhami. He welcomed talented people from various states to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, saying, "Organizing the Hunar Haat Mela is a commendable step toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of a self-sufficient India. As a result, the product will find its way to the markets, and the markets will find their way to the products. These types of events are also critical for promoting Vocal for Local."

According to Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, "Hunar Haat Melas is being organised all over the country. Dehradun is hosting the 30th Hunar Haat fair. This event will last ten days. According to him, Hunar Haat has provided employment opportunities to approximately 06 lakh artisans and craftsmen. Handicrafts from various parts of the country are displayed here. There are stalls set up with dishes from various states. Skilled people promote self-employment by converting garbage into gold."
