WASHINGTON: Hundreds of protestors gathered outside the White House on Thursday, urging Russian President Vladimir Putin to end his invasion of Ukraine and for President Joe Biden to take tougher action against him.

The rally takes occur as Kyiv enters its second night of horror. Panic gripped Ukraine following hours of Russian missile attacks, resulting in harrowing photos.

Sofia, a Ukrainian native, claims she awoke to rocket assaults and explosions, as well as a city she doesn't recognise. "I can smell gunpowder, it definitely smells like gunpowder in my flat," the woman, who only gave her first name, added. "We always hear aircraft flying quite low. The city is completely deserted. The population of the city is dwindling "She went on to say that she is taking refuge in her basement.
