England suffered their first defeat in six decades against Hungary when the team suffered a 0-1 defeat in a Group-C match of the Nations League football here on Saturday. After Rees James' foul, Hungary got a penalty in the 66th minute of the second half, which Dominic Sobosalai converted into a goal to take his team's victory.

James had fouled against Soboslai. Hungary had last defeated England in the middle of the 1962 World Cup. After which, England's team was unbeaten in 15 matches against Hungary but on Saturday the order was broken. This was England's first loss in their last 23 matches, excluding the defeat in the penalty shoot-out. In another match of the same group, Germany and Italy played out a 1-1 draw. In this match, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Joshua Kimmich also scored goals within three minutes.

Lorenzo gave Italy the lead in the 70th minute, but after 3 minutes Joshua made the score 1-1, after which neither of the two teams could score the winning goal. In League B, Armenia defeated Ireland 1-0 thanks to a goal scored by Edward Spurtsyan in the second half. Finland and Bosnia and Herzegovina drew 1-1, while Montenegro defeated Romania 2-0. In League C, Turkey defeated Ferro Island 4-0 while Luxembourg defeated Lithuania 2-0.
