New Delhi: A man conspired to get insurance money and compensation that stunned everyone. He lay down on the train track and cut both his legs so that he could get the insurance money. The person had taken not only one but 14 insurance policies. But even after many years, he could not get Rs 23 crore of insurance.

According to media reports, the case pertains to Nyircsaszari, Hungary, where the District Court recently ruled that a man named Sendar was deliberately lying in front of the train to get insurance payments and compensation of £2.4 million (about Rs 239.7 million).  Sendar, 54, lost both his legs in the shocking incident in 2014. He has been using artificial limbs since then and has been in wheelchair support. After losing his leg, Sendar contacted insurance companies to pay for the money, but his move got caught.

In fact, shortly before Sendar lost his legs, he had taken 14 high-risk life insurance policies. When the insurance companies came to know about this, they became suspicious. They delayed the claim, which angered Sendar and led them to court. Insurance companies and Sendar made their points during the court hearing.

Sendar claimed in court that he decided after receiving financial advice that returns on insurance policies were better than savings accounts. That's why he took the policy. Sendar told that he slipped on a piece of glass and lost control and had fallen on the train track. Both his legs were amputated in the accident. However, a seven-year-old investigation has concluded that he was deliberately lying down in front of the train to get the sum of money.
