Husband accused in Ayesha suicide case gets 10 years in jail, victim jumps into Sabarmati river and dies

Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Sessions Court in Gujarat has sentenced the husband Arif to 10 years in jail in the Ayesha suicide case. Ayesha jumped into the river on February 25, 2021. Before the suicide, Ayesha had made a video and sent it to Arif. Which also went viral on social media. After this, the police arrested Ayesha's husband Arif from Pali in Rajasthan. Ayesha was originally from Rajasthan and was living in Vatwa in Ahmedabad.

Ayesha had said in her video before jumping into the Sabarmati river, "I pray that this beloved river embraces me with its flow." After Ayesha's death, it was revealed that the case was of dowry harassment. Ayesha was married to Arif of Rajasthan in 2018, but she was constantly being tortured in the name of dowry. Along with this, Arif also had an affair with a girl from Rajasthan. In front of Ayesha, Arif used to talk to his girlfriend on a video call. Due to this, Ayesha was broken by Arif's behaviour during pregnancy and came into depression. Her child died in the womb. There was always a fight between the two. Fed up with the day-to-day quarrels, she jumped into the river and committed suicide.

After Ayesha's suicide, her husband Arif absconded. The family told the police that he had gone to a marriage ceremony. After this, Arif's phone was taken on surveillance and he was arrested from Pali. When the police caught Arif, he started walking with the police as if nothing had happened. Surprisingly, there was no wrinkle on his face.
