However, according to the version of events narrated by Kumar, his wife then refused to have sex with him and an argument ensued between them. Amidst the argument, Kumar's wife told him "to have sex with some other women or wait till their daughter grows up." Inspector Sandesh Chodankar with the Verna police station told media outlets that Kumar revealed to him how he had murdered his wife after she refused to engage in sexual intercourse with him. The policeman took Kumar to the Verna police station where he confessed to his crime. Local law enforcement personnel reached Kumar's residence on Monday morning to find the victim's body. The body was then shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital where it is being preserved and a postmortem will be conducted shortly. The victim's mother who lives next door was informed about the tragedy the next morning. "We had dinner together on Sunday night and I was told on Monday that my daughter has been killed," she said. A case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been filed against Kumar in this regard and further investigation is underway.
