vaccination
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has completed 96% coverage of vaccination first dose, reaching 50% coverage of first dose in other parts of the state so far. State health officials have set a target of immunizing 2.8 crore people in the next four weeks. Dr G Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health, Telangana said, “So far, a total of 1.54 crore first doses have been given. In the last three days, we have given an average of 5 lakh doses and we will be giving about 10 million doses in the next four weeks, so as to complete at least one dose for the entire target population before the third wave strikes.

Even as the health department is racing against time to complete vaccinations in view of the start of the festive season and anticipation of a spike after the season, a few isolated cases are emerging. “The number of Covid-19 cases is low. We are not seeing any clusters as of now, but mostly isolated, sporadic cases,” the official said.
