Hyderabad: Heavy rains were recorded in many parts of the city on Thursday, leading to water-logging and drowning of several vehicles. People had to face a lot of difficulties. Traffic came to a complete standstill in many areas. The closed areas include Kukatpally, Seri Lingampalli, Balanagar, Khairatabad, Kutubullapur, Manikonda, Moosapet, Madhapur, Ameerpet, Kompally, Bowenpally, Somajiguda, Masab Tank, Banjara Hills, Attapur, Hyderguda, Rajendranagar, Meerpet, Trimulgheri.

Rain water also entered the parking areas of several apartments in Srinagar Colony (Yusufguda). In Khairatabad all the streets and alleys were flooded. People are facing problems due to accumulation of water in Ameerpet. Two wheelers and four wheelers parked in the streets were submerged in the water. GHMC officials were also informed about this. Passengers were stuck in traffic after the rain. Many employees could not travel by bike. They had a tough time booking aggregator taxis or flagging cabs because of the spurt in prices. Ola and Uber saw a jump of around 60 per cent.

The city will see thunderstorm, lightning and thunderstorms on September 3 and 4 in Telangana state, according to IMD bulletin to see drizzle for 4 days. With heavy rains on 5 and 6 in Siddipet, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri and Medak districts. There will be heavy rain in 13 other districts as well. On September 5 and 6, light to moderate rain and thundershowers will occur at isolated places/most places in the state.
