The Civil Aviation ministry has taken a next step in regional aerial connectivity in India under RCS-UDAN (Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik). The second direct flight commenced operations on November 20 from Hyderabad, Telangana to Nashik, Maharashtra. Upon the successful launch of flight operations by Alliance Air on the Hyderabad – Nashik route, SpiceJet has become the second airline to commence direct flight operations on this route. The airlines was awarded the Hyderabad – Nashik route under the RCS-UDAN-2 bidding process.
Under the UDAN scheme, airlines provides Viability Gap Funding (VGF) to keep the fares affordable & accessible for the common people. The details about operations includes four weekly flights deploying 78-seater Q400 aircraft. Nashik is the 14th destination to be connected under UDAN by SpiceJet. The UDAN scheme have been operationalized in 297 routes and 53 airports so far. The flight number 2789 departs from Hyderabd (HYD) Airport at 10:35 will reach Nasik Airport (ISK) at 12:05 taking a travel time of 1 hour and 30 minutes and travels on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The vice versa route will be covered by flight number 2790 from ISK at 12:35 and reaches HYD at 14:10 in 1 hour 35 minutes time on the same days.
