Hyderabad Police arrested techie for killing her girlfriend

HYDERABAD:  A 25-year-old woman's body was found stuffed in a suitcase near a school in Hyderabad. The body was tightly stuffed in a suitcase using rope and Scotch tape and later dumped outside the Krishi High School. The woman was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, a mechanical engineer, who was her classmate in college, police said; adding that the suspect, identified as Sunil, did not want to get married to the woman and decided to kill her.

The Victim identified as Lavanya had been missing since April 7, but with her phone switched off and family not having any details of her boyfriend, police finally cracked the case using her call details to zero in on Sunil. He was arrested on Sunday night. Police found her body on Sunday after some locals spotted an abandoned suitcase close to a school in Medchal.  A passerby informed the police about a suspicious-looking suitcase near to Krishi High school.

The couple had fallen in love while pursuing engineering at CMR College of Engineering and Technology. Both got jobs and marriage was on the cards too. But the college love story soon turned sour and Sunil began to avoid questions on marriage. The woman and Sunil were both working in Hyderabad and lived there with their families.
