Hyundai, a world-renowned vehicle manufacturer, has exported 'Made in India' i.e. five thousand cars manufactured in India to overseas market in May 2020. The company started operations in May this month. The company started exporting in 1999, since then the company has exported 3 million cars to 88 countries.

In a release from the company on Saturday, it has been told that it is committed to support the 'Make in India' program of the government and under it five thousand cars were exported in May. Hyundai Motor India Limited MD and CEO SS Kim said that we have once again started to return to normalcy by exporting 5,000 units in May. He said that this is a direct proof of the efforts of localization and economic reforms.

The company had exported 1,81,200 units in the last financial year. The company currently exports 10 models including Venue and Creta. After 55 days of lockdown, the company started production at the Sriperumbudur plant near Chennai earlier this month. The company has opened more than 255 dealerships and workshops so far. Since starting the operation, so far, more than four thousand people have been questioned about the vehicles. Over 500 bookings and 170 vehicles have been sold.
