Vehicle manufacturer Hyundai Motor India lifted the curtain from its new generation Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the hatchback is going to be launched on August 20. India has been the leading market to develop the third-generation Grand i10 and will also be the first market to get the model before its launch in Europe at the end of this year. Grand i10 Nios in India will co-exist in with the current model. Hyundai has also started booking its Grand i10 and has now found out about its variants, colors, engines and transmission options across us.
According to media reports, both petrol and diesel engines will be offered in the 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and will be launched in about 10 variants. The carmaker will initially launch 7 variants of petrol starting from Era Trim and will go up to Magna, Sportz, and Top Range Asta. The diesel variant will be available in three trims - Magna, Sportz, and Asta. The Sportz petrol will offer dual-tone trim. Hyundai is well aware that the demand for its petrol car will be higher than that of diesel, which will result in a petrol engine in many variants.
The current model will feature a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol and a 1.2-liter CRDi diesel engine. At the moment, it is not known whether the company will tune its engine, but these engines are believed to be BS6 ready. Both the engines will come with a 5-speed manual and automatic manual transmission (AMT) option in the Grand i10 Nios. The same unit is also found in the Hyundai Santro. The Grand i10 Nios Petrol AMT will be available in two trims – Magna and Sportz.
