The epidemic coronavirus has severely affected the automobile industry not only in the country but all over the world. South Korea's well-known car manufacturer Hyundai Motor said on Monday that the company had sold 2,17,510 units in May 2020, a decline of 39.3 per cent. The company has seen this decline globally due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. Hyundai sold 3,58,567 units in the same period last year.

If we talk about Hyundai's sales in the domestic market, then Hyundai has seen a growth of 4.5 percent with 67,756 units in May, 2020 by year, as in May, 2019, the company sold 67,756 units. The company said that popular models such as the Grandeur sedan, which is sold in many markets under the name of Azera, have topped the domestic market with sales of 13,416 units.

The new models have performed well. Including the new Avante sedan which is sold as Elantra in many markets and the Genesis brand of G80 sedan has helped to increase sales in Korea. Sales in other markets slowed due to Kovid-19 stalling operations at several plants, global market closures and other economic activity and compared to 2,90,811 units sold in May 2019 in May 2020. 146,700 units were sold. To take care of its customers, the company is taking many steps like launching new models online and extending the warranty period.
