New CNG equipped Magna variant of Hyundai Motor India has silently introduced the Grand i10 in the market. The Hyundai Grand i10 Magna CNG is priced at ₹ 6.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and brings the alternate fuel convenience to the mid-level trim of the hatchback. It has to be noted that the Grand i10 was only available with the CNG option for fleet buyers on the Prime version, but is now offered to private buyers as well for the first time as a factory fitted option. With the shift towards petrol-powered vehicles, the new CNG version is likely to see a surge in demand for those looking at attaining higher fuel efficiency.

Here it is to be noted that the Hyundai Grand i10 CNG is available in a single variant and draws power from the same 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT petrol engine. The power output is reduced to 65 bhp 98 Nm of peak torque on the CNG models, as opposed to 81 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque available on the petrol-only version. The car comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and rides on 14-inch wheels. With respect to features, the car is offered with a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, rear AC vents, electric ORVMs, steering mounted controls and more. The Magna variant also gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD as standard. The Magna trim still misses out on rear parking sensors, speed alert system and more, all of which will be mandatory across vehicles as per the new safety regulations.

It is worth mention here that the Grand i10 is one of the more consistently selling models for Hyundai India and the CNG variant is likely to add to the strong numbers of the hatchback, targeting entry-level buyers. The model competes against the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo, Mahindra KUV100 and the likes in the segment. Hyundai is also readying the next generation of the Grand i10 and the model was spotted testing a number of times in the past. The new gen Grand i10 is expected to make its global debut sometime next year.a
