The world's leading vehicle manufacturer Hyundai Santro returned to the Indian market after a long time and the company has now included the new BS6 emission standard engine with major updates. The Hyundai Santro has the same 1.1-liter petrol engine that comes with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT transmission. With both transmission options, the Santro now offers a mileage of up to 20 kmpl. This data has been released by the ARAI certification.

According to the report published in Auto Car India regarding this matter, Hyundai Santro's BS6 engine gives a mileage of 20 kmpl and it is 0.3 kmpl less than the BS4 variant ARAI. The Hyundai Santro competes in the Indian market with Maruti Suzuki WagonR 1.0 and 1.2, Celerio, Tata Tiago and Renault Kwid.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR 1.0 is the highest mileage car and it gives mileage up to 21.79 kmpl. At the same time, Celerio 1.0 ranks second in the list of highest mileage and gives mileage of 21.63 kmpl. The WagonR 1.2 mileage is 20.52 kmpl and the Tata Tiago petrol mileage is 19.8 kmpl. All these cars come with a manual and AMT transmission and both have the same mileage with the transmission. The Hyundai Santro, on the other hand, has a 1.1 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates the power of 69 PS and torque of 99 Nm. The most powerful car in this segment is the Tata Tiago, which has a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine that generates 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque.
