Bangalore: Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has come into the limelight by making a statement regarding beef. He said that he is a Hindu and he has not eaten beef yet. But they can eat beef if they want. It is their wish. Congress leader Siddaramaiah alleged that the RSS was creating differences among humans. Siddaramaiah was addressing a program in Tumakuru. During this, he alleged that the people of RSS are creating conflict between the communities. He said that beef eaters are not just people from one community.

He said that I am a Hindu. But I haven't eaten beef yet. But if I want, I can eat beef. Who are you to question me? Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that beef eaters do not belong to only one community. Hindus also eat beef, Christians also eat beef. He said that, even once I had said in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly that who are you, the one who tells me that I should not eat beef. It is a matter related to the habit of eating. This is my right.

The BJP government in Karnataka had brought the Karnataka Slaughter Prevention and Cattle Protection Act, 2020 in January 2021. According to it, it is illegal to buy, sell, transport, slaughter and trade all kinds of cattle. It includes cows, oxen, buffaloes and bullocks.
