MUMBAI: Actress Rakul Preet Singh discusses her new movie "Chhatriwali," which is about safe sex and male contraception.

Says Rakul "Every one of my films has been significant to me, but "Chhatriwali" is particularly special for a variety of reasons. I am finally getting to star in a movie after working in this industry for so long, and what movie could be more fun with such a socially conscious theme." In a condom factory, Rakul assumes the post of quality control manager. Although Rakul was initially rather reserved about her job, the movie demonstrates how she gradually came to understand its significance. She accepts the duty of raising awareness and recognises the need of sex education.

The actress says that because the movie deals with concerns about safe sex and today (December 1) is World AIDS Day, which is commemorated to raise awareness about HIV among people, it is vital to unveil this movie today.
The actress known for "Cuttputlii," "Runway 34," and "Attack," among other films, continues, "This World Aids Day, I join the fight against HIV by spreading awareness on the necessity of safe sex and the use of male contraceptives with my upcoming film, "Chhatriwali."

"Chhatriwali," a film by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, stars Rakul Preet Singh and Sumeet Vyas. It will soon be released on ZEE5.
