Actress Shefali Sharma, who is better known as Bani from Bani - Ishq Da Kalma, is returning to TV with the show Sanjog after six years. It was a scarceness of fascinating offers that prompted her to take a break from television. Shefali says, “I was doing Punjabi films. Besides, I wasn’t too pleased with the kind of projects I was being offered on TV. Sanjog is clutter-breaking and that’s the reason why I have decided to do it.”

Like her last outing, Tere Bin, Shefali will be seen playing a mother in this one, too. The actress has no second thought about portraying a mother on screen. She says, “Like Tere Bin, in Sanjog, too, I have a daughter who is around six. For me, the story matters. Even when I took up Tere Bin, I didn’t think ki mera character ek mother ka hai. I am fine with playing mother to a child artist as long as my character is essential to the storyline. Having said that, I won’t be comfortable with the idea of playing a mom to a 15 or 20-year-old. Meri age ke barabar nhi hona chahiye mera baccha in a show.”So that is a deal breaker for the actress when it comes to playing a mother on television.

What about embracing motherhood in real life? The actress, who tied the knot with actor Varun Sethi in September 2014, says, “Of course, I want to be a mother, but it’s too soon for me. I have a couple of years to take that descent. I am just 29. Our parents asked us about planning our family before sometime but they realized that we are mature enough to take our decisions. For now, work is our priority. I took a long break from TV and want to focus on my career at the moment. If not now, then when?”
