New Delhi: Congress leader and former President Rahul Gandhi has received a notice from the Housing Committee of the Lok Sabha Secretariat yesterday. The notice was about vacating the government bungalow he received as an MP. In 2019, during the Lok Sabha election campaign, Rahul had made a controversial comment on the Modi surname, saying that "all people with the Modi surname are thieves." "

A defamation case was filed against him on this matter, and the Surat court sentenced him to two years in jail. Due to this, his MPship was cancelled. Due to the cancellation of the Parliament, Rahul's right to the government bungalow found at 12 Tughlaq Road in Delhi also ended. That's why they received a notice to vacate it. Today, Rahul responded to this notice through a letter.

Rahul wrote a letter to Mohit Rajan, deputy secretary of the MS branch of the Lok Sabha Secretariat. "Dear Mr. Rajan, thank you for your letter on March 27 regarding the end of my stay at my official bungalow at 12 Tughlaq Road. As an elected member of the Lok Sabha for the last four terms, I have received the mandate of the people, for which I am grateful for the happy memories of my time here. Without prejudice to my rights, I will certainly abide by the order written in your letter. With the cancellation of parliament by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, one is allowed to stay in a government bungalow for 30 days. Then, the bungalow has to be vacated. In such a situation, Rahul can stay in the government bungalow located on 12 Tughlaq Road until April 22. On April 23, their official right to stay in this bungalow will end, and they will have to vacate it.
