'I'm not anti-Modi': Shashi Tharoor's big statement

New Delhi: Shashi Tharoor has been sidelined after a defeat in the election of Congress President. First, he was not given a place in the new committee formed by Mallikarjun Kharge in place of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), then he was also excluded from the list of star campaigners in the assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. Now Shashi Tharoor himself has also broken his silence regarding this.

Talking to the media, Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor said that he will continue his fight against the BJP. Tharoor said he was not anti-Modi, he only opposed the government. He said that being an intellectual I am not against India. I have no hatred for Modi. My opposition is limited to only one big government. He clearly said that PM Narendra Modi has taken forward many such schemes which were actually started by the Congress. He said that Congress has not been given credit even once by Prime Minister Modi for those schemes. It is a different matter that Tharoor put the needs of the public as paramount.

Tharoor has said that I personally wanted to campaign for the party in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, but the party did not include me in the list of star campaigners. The party probably doesn't need my service there. Anyway, if I go to any election state without becoming a star campaigner, then action can be taken by the Election Commission. Money can be deducted from the expenses of the candidate. Now Tharoor himself is not participating in the election campaign, but he has expressed the hope that Rahul Gandhi will take a break from the Bharat Jodo Yatra and campaign for the party in both the election states.
