New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a statement on behalf of the ministry in Rajya Sabha on Monday on the attack on AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi's car. Amit Shah said that neither Owaisi had any program in Hapur nor was the administration informed about his departure from that route. In the end, the Home Minister said that he requests Owaisi to take the security given by the government.

Speaking on the firing on Owaisi's car, the Home Minister said that on February 3, 2022, at 5.30, the MPs were returning from public relations. Then 2 unknown people fired on his car. The incident was witnessed by three witnesses. An FIR has also been registered in Pilkhuwa regarding the incident. It is being verified. In his address, Amit Shah said that there was no program of Owaisi in Hapur and neither the administration had received any information in this regard. Owaisi reached Delhi safely. At present, both the accused are being interrogated. Owaisi was told to provide security. The Z category security is given after the threat assessment is done. But verbally he has refused to take protection.

Let us inform that when Asaduddin Owaisi was returning from Meerut after a public meeting, there was firing on his car at Hapur toll plaza. The bullet marks on the car were shown by Owaisi himself while tweeting. The CCTV footage of the attack had also surfaced. Later, two accused were arrested by the Pilkhuwa police.
