Throughout their divorce, Kristin Cavallari alleges she and her ex-husband Jay Cutler tried to work things out, even going on a few dates, but finally concluded "I didn't want to be in a toxic relationship anymore." Cavallari spoke with Kaitlyn Bristowe on her "Off the Vine" podcast about her split from Cutler.

She described her breakup as "such a roller coaster but... definitely the finest move I've ever made," according to the source. The Laguna Beach alum, on the other hand, had doubts about whether she was doing the right move by quitting her relationship with the athlete. “But then dating him for a short while helped me confirm that, like, ‘No, I know I'm making the correct decision,'” she continued on Tuesday. Cavallari learned an important lesson when she re-entered the dating scene following the separation, as she was briefly linked to Chase Rice and Jeff Dye after the breakup.

Cavallari and Cutler, who are both 38, announced their divorce in April 2020. Their divorce proceedings are still ongoing. Camden, 9, and Jaxon, 7, are the couple's boys, while Saylor, 5, is their daughter. Cutler has also spoken up about his experience attempting to date someone new following his divorce.

Being a parent has changed his priorities when it comes to picking someone to marry, according to the former football player, who was recently linked to Jana Kramer. He remarked at the time, "I'm in a new period of my life now with kids." "It's not only a selfish move on my side."
