With more than 45 million subscribers Disney+ Hotstar has managed to remain at the top of the OTT game in India. In the country, it is far ahead of global streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The content on Disney+ Hotstar is designed keeping in mind the sensibilities of the Indian audience in mind and that is one of the biggest reasons behind its success in the domestic market.

Model and actress Ashweenee Aher, who is all set to be seen in an upcoming Disney+ Hotstar series, says, “I feel extremely happy to be making my digital debut with India’s No. 1 OTT platform. I was getting offers for web shows for a while but I wanted to pick the right project at the right time. While I loved the script of the show I am doing, the fact that it was to be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar was one of the major reasons behind me taking it up. Every actor wants to reach out to the widest audience possible. When the show comes out, I am sure it will get a huge viewership because of the platform.”

While Ashweenee started her modelling career in India, her looks and confident persona were soon noticed by international agencies. Very soon, she had to balance her career in India and internationally. She has been the face of some of the biggest brands in India and has featured on international magazines like The Hollywood Reporter. Despite international fame, her heart resides in India.

“The love and acceptance of the people of my country is what matters to me the most. I have worked with some wonderful people abroad but the joy of working in your own country is something else. In fact, everything I do internationally is to make my country proud. When I am in a foreign country, I am a representative of India. There is a sense of responsibility on my shoulders and I try to carry it well”, she says.

Apart from being a model and an actress, Ashweenee is also a much successful entrepreneur. The large number of fans that follow her on social media are well aware of her love for fitness and healthy living. While she awaits the release of her debut web series on Disney+ Hotstar, she has signed another big project that shall be announced soon.
