Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy is ruling the box office. Zoya Akhtar directorial musical drama had a fantastic first weekend and earned Rs 72.45 crore. It is being praised a lot by the audience and the critics. Recently, director Karan Johar took to his social media and reviewed the flick.

Talking about Alia, Karan wrote that the actress' performance is brilliant in the film.

Gully Boy is loosely based on the life of rappers Divine and Naezy in which Ranveer plays an underdog rapper named Murad Ahmed and Alia plays his love interest, Safeena Firdausi. The movie also stars Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Raaz in the lead roles.
