'I have just witness cult classic: Karan Johar praises Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy  is ruling the box office. Zoya Akhtar directorial musical drama  had a fantastic first weekend and earned Rs 72.45 crore. It is being praised a lot by the audience and the critics. Recently, director Karan Johar took to his social media and reviewed the flick.

Karan Johar shared the poster of the film and wrote, "When passion supersedes grass root realities...when dreams make you wake up to bigger dreams....when you wrap rap into a form of solid expression....when you tell a story that has all this and more....that’s when you have a film that you can assuredly call a MASTERPIECE of modern times!" Gully Boy is loosely based on the life of rappers Divine and Naezy in which  Ranveer plays an underdog rapper named Murad Ahmed and Alia plays his love interest, Safeena Firdausi. The movie also stars Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Raaz in the lead roles.
