Actress Roopa Divatia, who is currently seen in the show, Ghum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein, will be on a break from the show for a while. The actress has taken up another TV show Nagamani.
Roopa said, "My role has always been limited in Ghum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein, so I was told that if something good comes my way, I could take it up. I am doing Nagamani because I have a solid role there. However, I am not quitting Ghum...I have enjoyed playing Mansi and I am okay with the scope of the character and will be back on the show whenever the makers need me."
The current surrogacy track in the show has sparked a debate, but Roopa prefers to keep quiet on the matter. She says, "I have been in the industry for very long to comment on a particular track. I take my work as a job and prefer not to comment on storylines or tracks."
Roopa, who started her career with TV shows like kusum, feels that not much has changed on the small screen ever since then. She says, "I used to do a Gujarati show 'Huto Huti' on TV in Ahmedabad and later started doing Television shows in Mumbai. I feel the focus is still on the saas-bahu content and audiences enjoy watching women in protagonist roles. Fiction shows are mainly about saas-bahu or a woman going through hardships in their life."
On the personal front, Roopa enjoys her work and going to the set. She says, "I relocated to Mumbai many years ago because entertainment opportunities were limited in Ahmedabad. I wanted to work in Mumbai and have enjoyed doing TV. Now after the pandemic, it feels good to be out of your home and working on the set once again."
