Shoaib Akhtar has once again made another such sensational disclosure during a conversation with Virender Sehwag, the former star opener of Team India, which you will also be surprised to know.

Let us tell you that great batsmen like Brian Lara and Sourav Ganguly had to bear the pain of Akhtar's fast balls. During the 2004 Champions Trophy match, Windies great Lara was hit on the head by Akhtar's ball and India legend Ganguly was hit in the rib by Shoaib Akhtar's short pitch ball during an ODI match in Mohali in 1999. Now Akhtar has revealed in a conversation with Sehwag that he was asked to target the batsmen on his head and ribs in a team meeting before the match against India. Sourav Ganguly's name was also included in those batsmen.

Akhtar told 'I always tried to target the batsman's head and ribs. We had planned to target Ganguly on his ribs. In fact, it was decided in our meeting itself, it was decided how I would try to hurt the batsmen.' I asked, 'Don't I have to get them out?' So he said, 'No. You have a lot of speed. You just try to trouble the batsmen, we will take care of getting them out.'

During this, Sehwag said, 'I am sure Ganguly must be listening to this program. Akhtar told him that he had later told this to Ganguly as well.' He said, 'I told Ganguly later that our plan was to target in the ribs, not get you out.'
