Chandigarh:A sad incident is coming to the fore from Haryana. In Chakhri Dadri, an old couple committed suicide by consuming sulfa tablets. Before dying, the old couple also handed over a suicide note to the police in which they expressed their pain. Both of the old couple who committed suicide were the grandfather and grandmother of IAS Vivek Arya. He has written in the suicide note that 'My son has property worth 30 crores, but gives us dry and stale bread to eat. For how long would we have to eat this slow poison, so we took sulfasalicylate pills? The same news of suicide was given by the grandfather of IAS Vivek Arya himself to the police. Thereafter, when the police reached the spot, they handed over the suicide note. After which, the police got both of them admitted to a private hospital. From there, they were taken to Dadri Civil Hospital, where doctors declared them both dead. Police have registered a case against four family members on the basis of a suicide note.

According to reports, Jagdishchand (78) and Bhagali Devi (77), originally residents of Gopi, live with their son Virendra in the Shiv colony of Badhda. Virendra Arya's son Vivek Arya became IAS in 2021 and got the Haryana cadre. Presently, he is working as a trainee, and his posting is in Karnal. On Wednesday night, Jagdishchand Arya and his wife Bhagali Devi swallowed a poisonous substance at their residence in Badhda, and late that night Jagdishchand Arya informed the police control room about swallowing poison. Thereafter, ERV 151 reached the spot, and a police team from Badhda police station was also called on the spot.

At the same time, Jagdishchand also handed over the suicide note to the police. When the condition worsened, the old couple was first taken to a private hospital in Badhda, and from there they were sent to Dadri Civil Hospital due to their critical condition. Doctors declared both dead at Dadri Hospital. On the other hand, Virendra, the son of the deceased, told that the police had reached the spot on the news of poison consumption. At this stage of age, both have been troubled by illness; that's why they have taken this step.
