NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned two Hong Kong players from playing cricket for life. The players are Dim Ahmad and Irfan Ahmed. Both are of Pakistan origin. Both the players were found guilty of match-fixing by the ICC. Another player in the team, Hasib Amjad, has been banned from the ICC for five years. The action against the three players has been taken after the ICC's Anti-Corruption Tribunal decided the case.
Nadeem Ahmed played for the team as a spinner from Hong Kong. He has played a total of 25 ODIs and 24 T20 matches. In ODIs, he has a total of 38 wickets while in T20 he has 25 wickets. Nadeem had made the ODI debut against Pakistan in July 2004. Irfan, who joined the all-rounder Hong Kong team, has played a total of 6 ODIs and 8 T20 matches so far. In ODIs, they have scored 99 while in T20 he has scored 76. Even in bowling, he could not do much. In ODIs, he has 8 wickets while in T20 he has 11 wickets.

Nadeem Ahmed and Irfan Ahmed are brothers. Nadeem was born on September 28, 1987, while Irfan was born on November 20, 1989, in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. Both players had a childhood in Pakistan but stepped into international cricket for Hong Kong. Irfan was also honoured with the award for being Hong Kong's best player in 2008-09.
