New Delhi. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has suffered a setback ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC). In fact, Williamson (Kane Williamson) is no longer the world's No.1 batsman. The New Zealand captain has slipped one notch to second in the latest ICC Test rankings. Steve Smith has now become the No.1 batsman in place of Kane Williamson.

According to the latest Test rankings, Steve Smith is ranked first with 891 points. Williamson's rating points have gone up to 886 after the 2-Test series against England. Australian batsman Marnus Labushen is third in the Test rankings, while Team India captain Virat Kohli has now moved up one place to No. 4. England captain Joe Root could not do anything amazing in the Test series against New Zealand, which is why his ranking has declined and he is now ranked 5th. India's 2 batsmen Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma occupy the sixth spot. Henry Nichols is 8th, David Warner 9th and Babar Azam is in 10th.

Steve Smith has benefited from Ken Williamson's injury. In fact, Ken Williamson missed the second Test against England due to injury and flopped in the first Test. Williamson had to bear this. Williamson lost 9 rating points as he sat out of the second Test and slipped to the No. 2 position. Now, if Kane Williamson plays a big innings against India in the final of the World Test Championship, he can once again get the No.1 ranking.
