Table Mountain :  The most scenic landmark in South Africa , Table Mountain is a flat topped mountain overlooking the Cape Town city. With over 24 million visitors each year, this landscape will surely blow your mind away.  Table mountain, as described by many, is magical and enchanting in its own way. Explore the valley and go hiking or trek among the woods and appreciate nature at its best. An abode to over 1500 species of animals and plants, the Table Mountain National Park displays a wonderful mix of flora and fauna well preserved in their natural habitat. Inviting several visitors from all across the globe, the top of the mountain seems like a paradise right on earth, offering the most stunning views. You may catch a cable car here to witness the beauty of the Cape Peninsula, which has huge botanical gardens consisting of the rare medicinal herbs and plants covering over 1250 metres of area.

Robben Island :  Often remembered as the place of banishment, is roughly two kilometres away from Cape town. It is this place where the social outcasts were forcefully sent by the rulers during the Apartheid times. Holding a great significance for every African, this island is well known for the institutional discrimination, brutality and cruelty when Apartheid was prevalent. It is this place where the freedom fighters spent their entire lives in the prison struggling for the freedom of their country.

Apart from just being used as a prison, the island was also a training and a defence ground in the World War II. With the deep history, it was decided to establish Robben Island as a great museum, which would also be a tourist landmark. Visitors come here to get educated about the difficult times and how the freedom fighter overcame them all.

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens :  Right to the east of Table mountain, lies the amazingly green Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Also a UNESCO world Heritage site, these botanical gardens are visited quite frequently all round the year. The major objective behind establishing these gardens were to preserve and conserve the most indigenous flora of the country.

Opened in 1913, the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens are huge and comprise of more than twenty thousand local species of plants, and herbs. It is essentially a maze of gardens, the most popular ones being the Scented gardens, sculpture gardens and Company's garden. Tourists widely appreciate the greenery and the beautiful views that this attraction offers. There is also a small oasis with trees around, leaving everyone spell-bound. 

Boulders Penguin Colony :  Boulders Penguin Colony, located on Boulders beach, is a nature reserve home to a colony of 3000 African penguins. It is the only place where you can see the penguins closely. The best time is during the breeding season, from March to May. A boardwalk winds around the Boulders beach, giving a clear view of the dunes and the penguins. The Boulders Beach is also home to many dunes divided by large boulders from where it derives its name. The Boulders Beach is also very popular for its gentle waves (making swimming easy even for kids) and clear rock pools. Parking is available at either end of the reservation on Seaforth Road and Bellevue Road.

Muizenberg :  A popular beach town, Muizenberg is located on the shore of the Cape Peninsula where it meets the False Bay coast. Muizenberg is an ideal holiday destination and is best known as a surfing spot. It is also visited for other water sports like blokarting, sailing, diving, kite surfing, and fishing. The main attraction here is the Muizenberg Beach with its colourful huts. The Surfer’s Corner in Muizenberg is where surfers come together for some adventure and fun.

There are several learning services and stores for beginners. One can rent suits, boards, longboards, etc. for surfing. Watch out for sharks and keep an eye on the Shark Spotters for warning flags. Muizenberg Beach is a lovely white beach where one can lay back and relax. Shallows waters are perfect for swimming and the colorful beach huts add to the charm. The stretch of beach starts at False Bay till Strand.
