New Delhi: The Industrial Development Bank of India has issued a new notification for its customers, informing them about the new rules to be set from July 1. The bank said that now people will get only 20 pages of chequebooks free of cost every year. After that, 5 rupees have to be paid for each cheque.

So far, IDBI Bank offers its customers a 60-page cheque book free of cost in the first year of opening an account. Whereas for the years thereafter, the bank gives a 50-page chequebook. After that, the customer had to pay Rs.5 for each cheque. However, the bank on Friday issued a fresh notice changing the cheque leaf charge, savings account charge and locker charge.

However, the bank said in a notice, "New rules will not apply to customers covered under savings accounts, and they will continue to receive free unlimited cheques in a year". In addition, the Bank has reduced the free facility for cash deposits (home and non-home) from the existing 7 and 10 in semi-urban and rural branches to 5-5 respectively. Similarly, in superon savings deposit accounts also, free transactions in semi-urban and rural areas have been reduced from the existing 10 and 12 respectively to 8 for each.
