The merger deal between Vodafone India and Idea Cellular is expected to be completed in March next year. By that time, both companies are expected to get all regulatory approvals. A source linked to the matter gave this information. Sources said, "There are only two clear approvals for the merger of Idea and Vodafone."

It should be completed by the end of the current financial year. E-mails were sent to Vodafone and Idea about this, but they did not respond. Both the companies are in the process of approving the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). After that, they have to get final approval from the Department of Telecommunications.

The idea will meet cellular shareholders and lenders on October 12 and get clearance on the merger in Vodafone India business. This meeting in Gandhinagar has been called on the instructions of NCLT Ahmedabad Bench.

It is notable that Vodafone India and Idea Cellular agreed to merge their businesses earlier this year. With this, the country's largest telecom company will come into existence, which is worth more than $ 23 billion and market share will be 35 percent.

Earlier, telecom company Reliance Communications and Aircel canceled the agreement on the merger of a mobile business. "The merger deal of RCom and Aircel's mobile business has been abrogated by mutual consent," said Reliance Communications in a release.

According to the company, "With significant competition in the Indian telecom sector, the latest policy guidelines had an adverse impact on bank financing for the sector. The merger agreement has been canceled due to some reasons.
