Hollywood's famous actor Idris Elba has expressed his reaction to apartheid. The actor has expressed his grief over racism. Recently, Elba said during an interview that he has to face discrimination despite being a celebrity. He said that even after becoming an actor, till today he could not stay away from racism. He has to face this often in his life. He further said that my parents taught from childhood that to be successful you have to become twice better than white people.

While participating in the program of The Pacific Rim Star, Elba said that the success has not ended the racism for me. Asking me about racism is like asking me how long I have been breathing. Elba further said that it stays with you whether you succeed or you beat the system. If you want to make your mark in the world, then you have to be twice better than a white person.

Giving credit to parents for his success, actor Elba has said that I was an only child by immigrant parents of Sierra Leone, West Africa and they have worked hard for whatever they did. In this way life taught me the importance of freedom and trusted myself for my success.
