Brasilia: Amid ongoing corona vaccination in Brazil, the government is working on planning vaccinations for children too. Meanwhile, Brazil's health regulatory agency Anvisa, which approved vaccination, said its senior management is receiving death threats.

In fact, Anvisa is the only one to give possible approval for immunization of children in Brazil. Brazil's health regulator said Friday that all five of its directors have received death threats over possible approval by the Covid-19 vaccination agency for children between the ages of five and 11. In a statement, Anvisa said they reported the threat to police and prosecutors via email.

They said threatening messages were sent Thursday morning. It threatened to kill directors if the agency approved vaccination for children. The statement said schools in Parana state have also been threatened. "On Thursday, five Anvisa directors received threatening emails asking them to kill children between the ages of five and 11 years if they were approved to be vaccinated," the agency said.
