Lucknow: The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation of Uttar Pradesh has taken a major decision on the Pawan Parv of Navratri. The administration has banned the sale of meat in the area for nine days i.e. till April 10. Instructions have also been given to clean the temples during this period. The order has been issued by the health officer of the municipal corporation. Along with this, an escort team has also been formed to follow the rules.

Let us know that the festival of Navratri has started from Saturday (April 2, 2022). In view of this, the corporation has taken this decision. The escort team formed by the corporation will visit all the localities and close down the meat shops. If it is not followed, legal action will also be taken. It may be recalled that the Mayor of Ghaziabad district, Asha Sharma, on Friday (April 1, 2022) wrote a letter to the Municipal Corporation's Health Officer Dr Mithilesh Kumar, in which she directed him to clean and light all the temples present in the city from April 2 to April 10. As soon as the mayor's written order was received, the health officials wrote to all the cleaning and food inspectors instructing them to comply with the order.

This is being reported to be the first time that all types of meat and non-vegetarian shops have been ordered to be closed for up to 9 days on Navratri in writing by the corporation. Earlier orders were given verbally. Meanwhile, on Friday, Food Safety Officer N N Jha closed down all non-vegetarian shops and warned that if the shops opened even after the order, bulldozers would be run on them. The license will also be revoked. Additional Commissioner of food department Vineet Kumar has said that strict action will be taken against the shopkeepers for not following the norms during navratri festival. Six teams have been formed to inspect it.
